Cal 8500 is one of the first fully in-house movement by Omega to be built from ground up revolving around their infamous Co-Axial movement, and while the earlier movement is not as magnetic resistance as compared to their 8800 or 8900 series, but I think it does offer some sort of resistance still. The Co-Axial escapement functions with a system of three pallets that separate the locking function from the impulse, with the pushing, as opposed to the sliding friction of the lever escapement, resulting in greater mechanical efficiency.
